The design needed to maintain the ability for casual client and staff collaboration, provide privacy when required and give spatial ownership to its' occupants. The design questions the notion of the traditional office model and seeks to provide spaces that are separate but still connected to traditional open plan seating spaces, which allow for more interpersonal collaboration between clients and employees. The visitor is taken on a journey as they progress through the spaces commencing in the public reception area, moving into the open cafe; lounge, along to the semi-private collaboration spaces and terrace, before entering into the private meeting spaces.
Combining neighbourhood and street tree views, with the activation and access of the external terrace, the design both defines and highlights the local context. A series of fundamental design decisions and exploitation of the expansive outdoor terrace has allowed all circulation spaces a connection to the outdoor.
